We have been appointed to serve as commissioners for the Town of Port Hedland. It is an important role that we feel honoured to fill. Our priority is to work
closely with the community – listening, learning, collaborating, connecting and providing the support required to transition back to an elected council in 2026.
Port Hedland is built on the strength of its people — from Traditional Owners, community groups, families, individuals, business and industry. Over the months ahead, we will listen carefully to your perspectives, and invite you to work with us to shape a strong and stable future for local government.
Our objectives are clear: We will stabilise the Town of Port Hedland, represent the wider community’s interests, and build confidence in local government ahead of an election on 28 March 2026.
Our priority is the future: We will ensure the next elected council is set up for success when elected members return.
Local government exists to provide safe, reliable and relevant programs and services for the community; to plan, deliver and maintain facilities, assets and infrastructure; and to manage community finances in a responsible and sustainable way. As your commissioners, that is the work we will be getting on with.
Community programs and services will continue without interruption, necessary decisions will be made responsibly and transparently, and strong systems, processes and procedures will be put in place to support the Town’s future.
Our outcome is simple: We will hand our governance role over to a council of newly elected members who are set up for success - ready to serve the community with integrity, accountability and respect.
We look forward to working together with you to ensure we can collectively create the best possible future for Port Hedland.
