Spoilbank Marina July Update

The project has achieved a major milestone, with the marina basin now connected to the ocean.

Dredging of the new navigation channel is complete. The channel, which is 900 metres long, 30 metres wide and 2.2 metres deep (below lowest tide), will enable boats to safely enter and exit the marina.

The contract for the landside civil and landscaping package has been awarded, which will provide a vibrant community gathering space for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The $187.5 million Spoilbank Marina is being managed by the Pilbara Ports Authority, and is funded by the State Government, Town of Port Hedland and BHP

Ranger Review

If you see a dog wandering DO NOT approach it and DO NOT post it on Facebook.

Call the Town of Port Hedland Ranger team on 9158 9300, report the location and description of the dog and which way the dog is heading.

If you believe the dog is chasing people or vehicles, you should advise the Town that the dog is attacking and Rangers will attend as soon as possible.

Stay safe and report wandering dogs. Also ensure your dogs are well secured at all times.

Projects Propelling Hedland

Town of Port Hedland councillors have endorsed the detailed design for a $1.3 million upgrade to one of Hedland's most iconic tourist attractions - Koombana Lookout.

The proposed concept includes three main areas prioritised by the Hedland community during the consultation process - increased shade, increased seating and increased access to the site.

The design includes the proposed location of lookout points to enable visitors to see out towards the Indian Ocean and around towards Finucane Island.

Koombana Lookout is an important tourist attraction for Hedland and having quality facilities will help attract more visitors and diversify our economy.
