SEPT 2024

"The upcoming sports awards will celebrate the impact sport has on building a connected, inclusive, and vibrant community here in Hedland."

Peter Carter, Town of Port Hedland Mayor

Hedland’s sports stars will be celebrated again this year with the 2024 Town of Port Hedland and BHP Community Sports Awards.

These prestigious annual awards celebrate the incredible talent, drive, and dedication of sporting individuals, volunteers, and teams across Hedland.

As we know, sports help build a liveable and connected community, whilst promoting healthy living, well-being, and social connections.

Nominations are now open, so I encourage you to put forward someone or a team who deserves to be recognised.

You may have also recently seen the news of the Town’s Chief Executive Officer, Carl Askew resigning. While I am sad to see Carl leave, I am grateful for the many years he has served our organisation and dedicated his tenure to the Hedland community.

I wish Carl all the best in his future endeavours.
