December 2024 |
|
|
As the festive season begins, I want to thank all of you for your contributions throughout the year.
To our volunteers, local businesses – small and large, our schools, and sporting groups - your efforts are truly appreciated.
This Christmas, I hope you all take time to relax and recharge.
On behalf of the Town of Port Hedland, I wish you all a very safe and merry Christmas and a joyful new year.
Here’s to celebrating the achievements of 2024 and embracing the opportunities that 2025 will bring.
Finally, there has been some windy and wild weather these past few days. It's a timely reminder that we are in the middle of cyclone season. If you're going away for the holidays, or even staying local - getting aware and getting prepared is key. |

Summer holiday house keeping
Cyclone preparation:
-
Clean up your yard: You don't want to be that dreaded neighbour who has to apologise for causing damage, nor come back from holidays to see your own home ruined
-
Disposing of waste: South Hedland Landfill will be open every day (except Christmas Day, 25 December) so you still have time to dispose of extra green waste and any rubbish from around your home
Make sure your pets are well looked after:
-
If you're having your furry friends looked after while you're away these holidays, make sure you prepare the sitters with everything they need in case of an emergency
-
This includes extra food, any medications, contact details, getting your pet/s familiar with their sitters, and providing the correct and up to date registration information
